Shrooms! No...garden art silly!

Take a gander at my latest project!  I got the idea to do this from  http://homesteadsurvival.blogspot.com/2012/07/crystal-mushrooms-made-from-cheap.html.  Of course I took that idea and ran with it.

I found these bowls, cups, vases and glasses at a local thrift store.  Total on this haul?  Under $10!  This is what I was seeing...

If you look real close you'll notice that there is almost a month between start and finish.  Don't judge...LOL...I have lots of things going on here.  I forgot to take progression pics but this is the end result.  I used crafters paint inside the bowls, circles first then the white.  Sealed with clear spray paint.  I painted the inside of the vases & glasses too.  Just put some paint inside and swirled it around.  I let them dry for a day or two in between each painting.  Then used rubber cement to put the "stems" on!  I don't know how long these will last, but I'm willing to find out!

Tadaaaa!  Here they are in their new homes...

Nice and cozy...

I love the one with the green stem...

And yes, before I could get back out side to take the pictures...the chickens struck!  No it didn't break but I will have to re-glue it.  That's OK!
